What is LookWow?

LookWow.com provides the first web-based photo enhancement service designed for consumers.  It is being used for online dating, social networking, sharing with friends and family, corporate photos, and much more.

 

How is this different than all the other online photo products?

Unlike most other online photo management services that are focused on photo sharing, storage, and prints, LookWow is specifically designed to be an easy-to-use, online photo enhancement service, using the industry’s most advanced capabilities. 

 

How does it work?

LookWow is very easy to use:

 

Step 1:  Upload your photo from here or the home page.

Step 2:  Click on one of the various Enhancement buttons.

Step 3:  You have the option to:

      Reapply the same effect by re-clicking the same enhancement button

      Click the “Undo last” or “Undo All” button and apply a new effect

      Save your photo at any time, and you’re done!

Step 4:  Upload a new photo at any time and repeat the process.

What are all these tabs?

On the left-hand side of the LookWow screen, you’ll see two tabs:

 

      Enhancements:  The buttons that appear under this tab are arranged into four groups:

1-Click Enhancements:  These enhancements can be applied using a single click.

Brighten & Darken:  These enhancements let you brighten or darken either a specific area of the face, such as the eyes or the mouth, or a section of the photo itself.

Stylish Effects:  These enhancements let you add such enhancements as soft lighting, bronzing, classic looks, or shadows.

Basic Enhancements:  These enhancements let you crop or sharpen the image of your photo.  You can also choose to remove “red-eye,” or add a caption that can either identify or describe your photo for future reference.

 

      Resize/Rotate & More:  The buttons that appear under this tab are arranged into four groups:

Resize:  These enhancements let you make the size of your photo larger or smaller.

Rotate:  These enhancements let you turn the image upside down, or rotate it around any number of degrees.

Adjust Color:  These enhancements let you intensify or reduce the color in your photo.

Artistic Effects:  These enhancements let you add a variety of effects, such as sunburst, dusk, or water reflection.

 

On the right-hand side of the LookWow screen, you’ll see three tabs:

      Enhanced Photo: This tab shows the picture after the effect has been added.

      Original Photo:  This tab shows the original picture before adding an effect.

      Review Progress:  This tab gives you a history of the effects you have created.  Each photo is labeled with the single effect you have selected.  There is no limit to the number of pictures that can be displayed 

 

How can I tell which tabs or buttons can be used at any time?

The tab currently in effect is the one that displays the eye next to its name.

 

What are 1-Click Enhancements?

These enhancements can be applied using a single click.  These include the following:

      One-Step Enhance: Use this effect to visibly lift and brighten your skin’s appearance.

      Smooth Skin:  Reduces unwanted marks such as spots, scars, moles, wrinkles, and lines.

      Elegant Look:  Instantly transform your photo into<br>a warm, classic, old-fashioned look.

      Suntan Effect:  Just one click gives an appearance of spending time in the sunshine.

      Glamorize Effect:  Smooth the skin and enhance the main features for a special “dress-up” look.

      Black & White:  Use this enhancement to instantly turn a drab color shot into a special black and white portrait that reduces the effects of harsh light into a pleasing image.

 

 

What are the Brighten & Darken Enhancements?

These enhancements let you brighten or darken either a specific area of the face, such as the eyes or the mouth, or a section of the photo itself   They include the following:

      Brighten:  Is your picture too dark or underexposed?  Use this feature to fix it.

      Darken:  Is your picture too light or overexposed?  Use this feature to fix it.

      Brighten Smile:  Use this feature to brighten your smile or whiten your teeth - without toothpaste.

      Brighten Eyes:  Use this feature to improve the appearance of your eyes.

      Brighten Region:  Use this feature to improve the appearance of an underexposed section of your photo.

      Increase Intensity:  Use this feature to improve the appearance of an overexposed section of your photo.

 

What are the Stylish Effects Enhancements?

These enhancements let you add such enhancements as soft lighting, bronzing, classic looks, or shadows.  They include the following:

      Candlelight Effect:  This feature gives your portrait the appearance of a soft, focused light that reduces lines and wrinkles while intensifying the colors.

      Enhance Lips:  Use this feature to brighten your lips or define the mouth - without lipstick or lip liner.

      Bronze Effect:  This feature gives your portrait the appearance of a smooth, tanned color.

      Classic Effect:  This feature gives your portrait an “old-fashioned” appearance that smoothes the skin and surrounding colors.

 

What are the Basic Enhancements?

These enhancements let you crop or sharpen the image of your photo.  You can also choose to remove “red-eye,” or add a caption that can either identify or describe your photo for future reference.  They include the following:

      Add Caption:  Use this feature to add a caption or identify your photo.

      Crop Photo: Use this feature to crop your photo to create stronger compositions and change the photo’s focus.  You select the area that defines the part of the photo you wish to keep.

      Sharpen Photo:  Use this feature to improve your photo’s appearance and clear up the image.

      Remove Red-eye:  Use this feature to reduce the “red-eye” effects from harsh lighting by replacing the red with original color.

 

 

What are the Resize/Rotate features?

These features let you resize the image of your photo to make it larger or smaller; turn it around, or adjust the colors.

      Grow by 15%:  Enlarges the size of your photo by 15 percent.

      Shrink by 15%:  Reduces the size of your photo by 15 percent.

      Thinify:  Makes the size of your photo narrower.

      Broaden:  Makes the size of your photo wider.

 

 

What are the Rotate features?

These features let you turn the image upside down, or rotate it around any number of degrees.  They include the following:

      Flip Photo:  Is your photo being displayed upside down?  Correct the orientation by flipping it.

      Rotate 90 deg.:  Corrects the orientation of a photo by rotating it 90 degrees clockwise.

      Rotate -90 deg.:  Corrects the orientation of a photo by rotating it 90 degrees clockwise.

      Free Rotate…:  Adjusts the orientation of your photo by rotating it. to your specification.

 

 

What are the Adjust Color features?

These features let you intensify or reduce the color in your photo.  They include the following:

      Enhance Color:  Out of focus?  Use this feature to emphasize a specific color in your photo – or use the Choose Color to Enhance option to select the degree of enhancement you want.

      Reduce Color: Use this feature to de-emphasize the tone of a color in your photo.

      Reduce Tone: Use this feature to de-emphasize the overall color intensity in your photo.

 

 

What are the Artistic Effects features?

These enhancements let you add a variety of effects, such as sunburst, dusk, or water reflection.  They include the following:

      Add Shadow:  Use this feature to add a shadow to your photo.

      Sunburst Effect:  Enhance your image by adding this stunning effect to your photo.

      Dark Room Effect:  Enhance your image by adding this stunning effect to your photo.

      Old Photo Effect:  Give your image an “old time” look by adding this effect to your photo.

      Dusk Effect:  Give your image a “sunset” look by adding this effect to your photo.

      Water Reflection:  Give your image a dreamy, waterside look by adding this effect to your photo.

 

 

How much does it cost to use LookWow?

LookWow is FREE to use.  There is no cost or obligation.

No registration or membership is required.

 

How can it be free?

LookWow is an advertising-supported site, so the service is free to users.  It is also available to enterprises for licensing.  Some premium services with modest fees may be added in the future.

 

What about my privacy in using LookWow?

We at LookWow.com know how much you value your privacy, so we make sure that your privacy is protected any time you use our service.

 

Because you aren’t required to register in order to use the LookWow in order to use our service, we do not collect any of your personal information.  Your personal information remains with you.  Only you decide if and when your pictures are shared.  Therefore, your pictures are never made publicly accessible by us, and are shared only by your explicit action.

 

What if my photo doesn’t show the result that I’d like?

Results will vary depending on quality of your photo and the Enhancement(s) you choose.  So if one effect does not appear the way you’d like (or expect), try a number of different enhancements to see which ones work best for that photo.  Feel free to use LookWow on a number of different photos.
